WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced  Emergency Room Registered Nurse  for a contract  assignment at a highly respected hospital in Utica, New York. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident caring for patients experiencing life‑threatening conditions.

Job Function:  

  • Shifts: 12 hours (36 hours weekly) | 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM  
  • Manage the care of adult and/or pediatric patients with critical, life‑threatening conditions requiring rapid  assessment and high‑intensity interventions.  
  • Provide emotional support, education, and clear communication to patients and families during  emergency situations.  
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, recognizing when early intervention is needed.  
  • Prepare patients for surgery, imaging, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform essential  emergency procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, blood draws, and airway support (intubation  assistance).  
  • Maintain  accurate  and  timely  documentation in the EMR.

  • Minimum of is required (including some Pediatric ED experience).3+ years of Emergency Department (ED) experience

  • Previous travel experience is strictly required and must be documented on the resume.

  • Charge Nurse Capability: Highly preferred.

  • Active New York State Nursing License (NURSYS verification required at submission).

  • TNCC is required.

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications are required.

  • EMR Experience: EPIC experience is required.
