WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in Massachusetts. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident caring for patients experiencing life‑threatening conditions.

Job Function:

  • Manage the care of adult and/or pediatric patients with critical, life‑threatening conditions requiring rapid assessment and high‑intensity interventions.  
  • Provide emotional support, education, and clear communication to patients and families during  emergency  situations.  
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, recognizing when early intervention is needed.  
  • Prepare patients for surgery, imaging, and diagnostic procedures.  
  • Perform essential  emergency  procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, blood draws, and airway support (intubation  assistance).  
  • Maintain  accurate  and  timely  documentation in the EMR.

  • MA License: Permanent Massachusetts nursing license must be active and "in hand" at the time of submission.

  • Health Compliance: Flu vaccine is required (Medical/Religious exemptions and declinations are allowed). COVID-19 vaccine is not required.

  • System History: If a returning staff member, there must be a 12-month separation from the health system.

  • ears of Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years of experience.

  • Trauma Level: Level I Trauma Center experience is required.

  • Preferred Experience:

    • EPIC charting system experience is preferred.

    • Experience with psych/behavioral health in an Emergency Department (ED) setting is strongly preferred.

    • Pediatric experience is strongly preferred but not required.

  • Required Certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

    • NIHSS (Stroke Certification)

    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

  • Clinical Skills: Must be able to read/interpret telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, care for ventilated patients, perform triage, and manage psych/behavioral health patients in an ED environment.
