Job Function:
- Shift & Hours: 36 hrs/ 3x12 Nights EOW
Clinical Care & Assessment: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing care for a designated group of patients; safely administers medications utilizing a strong working knowledge of pharmacology.
Patient Advocacy & Education: Educates patients and their families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
Leadership & Coordination: Delegates and coordinates care considering safety, cost, and competency; performs Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned; provides a supportive learning environment for students and new employees.
Operations & Governance: Shares responsibility for unit productivity, time management, and resource utilization; actively participates in the Nursing Shared Governance Model (Unit Council, peer reviews, and improvement initiatives).
Professional Growth: Integrates nursing research and evidence-based practice into daily care; participates in the Clinical Ladder Program and completes all mandatory continuing education.

General Experience: 6 months to 3 years of Registered Nurse experience (previous acute care or ambulatory experience preferred).
Specialized ICU Experience: Proven experience managing intensive cardiac and critical care patients, including conditions/procedures such as:
CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, and GI bleeds.
CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia protocols.
Stroke patients undergoing thrombectomy/TNK.
ICU overflow management.
Core Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, collaboration, verbal/written communication, problem-solving, time management, and safety/risk management.
Technical Skills: EPIC electronic health record (EHR) experience is required.
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Required: * Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
ACLS Certification.
Preferred: * CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse).
Unit-specific certifications (e.g., PALS, TNCC) as applicable.
