Job Function:
- Shifts: 1x12 Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Evaluate and continuously monitor patient progress in the ICU.
- Identify sudden or subtle changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately.
- Provide timely updates to physicians, patients, and family members.
- Initiate treatments, administer medications, and monitor dosing.
- Respond to medical emergencies and activate appropriate clinical teams.
- Deliver comprehensive care throughout the patient’s ICU stay.
- Complete all required documentation prior to patient transfer
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans

Job Requirements:
Minimum Experience: 1 year of recent acute care ICU experience.
System Experience: Epic charting experience is required.
Background Policy: Clean record required. Open or active background check hits and/or license hits will not be accepted.
Former Staff Policy: Former RWJBarnabas Health staff (full-time or PRN) must be fully separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible.
Nursing License: Active New Jersey state license or a Compact license required at the time of submission.
Required Certifications:
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS & ACLS
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Unit Profile: A modern 32-bed ICU with all private rooms, serving adult and geriatric populations. The ICU is connected directly to the PCU (Progressive Care Unit).
Hemodynamics & Cardiac: Advanced cardiac monitoring, emergency response, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Respiratory & Lines: Care of ventilated patients, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, suctioning (ETT, NT), arterial line management, central line care/management, and accessing/managing ports.
