WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced  Operating  Room Registered Nurse  for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in  Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for an OR nurse who thrives in a fast‑paced surgical environment and is committed to delivering safe, high‑quality perioperative care.

Job Function:  

  • Shifts: 5x8 Days (40 hours) | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Document all patient care accurately, completely, and promptly in the facility EMR  
  • Prepare the  operating  room for procedures and  assist  with room turnover  
  • Assist  with patient positioning and ensure comfort and safety throughout the procedure  
  • Handle and label specimens according to policy  
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection‑control standards  
  • Identify  and  initiate  corrective actions when necessary  
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure efficient workflow

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • License: Must hold an active Registered Nurse license.Pennsylvania (PA)

  • Certification: Must hold and maintain a current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (renewed every two years).

  • Experience Level: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is preferred. Prior experience is highly valued to successfully leverage critical thinking skills required for high-volume patient triage.

  • Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-traffic, and sometimes stressful medical office setting.

  • Clinical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of nursing principles, medication effects, diagnostic procedures, common safety hazards, and clinical equipment. Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines is required.
